Out of home
Working with an in-house copywriter and with input from the renowned BBH agency, I led on copy for this series of posters. They appeared for several weeks around Tube stations across London. And sometimes being the copy lead means knowing when to use someone else’s input. While I wrote the small print for all the posters, only one headline came directly from me. Care to guess which?
It’s ‘time to space out’. ‘The unrest is history’ came from BBH; the outstanding ‘we have drift off’ was the work of copywriter Charlotte Harris.
Simba’s launch in Canada had a different brief: to go more tongue-in-cheek. So I crafted these headlines with a definite sparkle in the eye. Throughout April and May 2019, these have been seen across billboards and bus shelters in Toronto and Vancouver, as well as translated into French Canadian for display in Montreal.
Product and Packaging
Does your product need a welcome pack? A spec sheet? Or are you popping flyers in a partnership pack to advertise your services? I’ve written all of them, and more, from user guides for software and products to corporate wellness brochures.
Here’s an example from a partnership with Sweatcoin – an opportunity to introduce the brand and hero product to a new audience.
Direct Mail
This particular project was one of those where you leap on an opportunity at short notice. After staring at a blank page for a few frustrating, lip-chewing hours, the story and tone poured out in the last twenty minutes before a scheduled meeting to review the work in progress. There were only minor tweaks thereafter; some projects are just like that. Obviously commercial information is sensitive, but I can say that the ROI was more than worth the last-minute scramble.

This is a piece I co-wrote with absolutely fantastic planning director Jennifer Cownie, for TMW Unlimited‘s annual Viewpoints publication (2017 edition).
